Since his early-teen years, Paul Miles has always had a creative rock-and-roll passion project on the go at any given time. Nowadays from his base in Melbourne, Australia, he creates rock-and-roll pictures, words and sounds as a content service for clients and music fans to enjoy.
PICTURES
From Brooklyn to Bangalore, Paris to Las Vegas, Tokyo to Los Angeles, Paul Miles has shot many of the world's greatest performers on assignment: from gigs in world-famous clubs like the Apollo in Harlem and the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, to iconic arenas like New York City's Madison Square Garden and Australia's MCG, plus cruise ships through the Caribbean.
His photos have been published in online media like Time Out Beijing and in print magazines like Germany's Rock Hard, while a coffee table book of his rock photography in New York City called Before I Hit the Stage (2015) has been published – the world’s first to photographically document touring rock-and-roll bands backstage in one city during one year.
WORDS
Paul Miles has authored ten rock-and-roll books. His titillating confessional book Sex Tips from Rock Stars (2010) was released globally by the planet’s biggest publisher of music books and published in multiple languages.
He is the historian of one of rock’s most reckless and biggest-selling bands of all time: Mötley Crüe, having continuously documented the facts behind their sex, drugs & rock-and-roll lifestyle for two decades, and published it via his Chronological Crue website and book series.
After writing the liner notes inside their first-ever live album Live: Entertainment or Death (1999), he was asked to contribute to Mötley Crüe’s autobiography The Dirt (2001) that has sold more than one million copies – you’ll see he gets “the biggest thanks of all” in the book’s Acknowledgements page.
His most recent book to be released is Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, the autobiography of John Corabi, which was published worldwide by Rare Bird Books in June 2022 and is receiving rave reviews.
SOUNDS
Paul Miles is also an eminent Rock DJ, who held residency at Australia's world-renowned rock-and-roll bar in AC/DC Lane for over a decade, as well as performing DJ sets in pubs and clubs across Melbourne.
As lead vocalist of SkinInc. – a hard rock band that blends radio-friendly hooks and melodies with crunching twin-guitar riffs – he’s performed at the Big Day Out festival and released multiple CDs. The band recently reformed after a twenty-year hiatus and are releasing new music again, including a new album on vinyl.
Furthermore, Paul Miles has experience in recording voiceovers for video productions, as well as an audiobook.
Paul loves to spend time with his wife Margott Hinostroza, serve the demands of his two cats, and dream of when he might visit Japan for the twelfth time.
